Monday Morning TV

Still trying to gather my thoughts after one of the most epic 24 hours of television I've ever had the privilege to watch. Ridiculous episodes of Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, and Homeland. AV club's reviews linked above, obviously all include serious spoiler alerts. Obviously I am an easy grader, and give them all A's... but speaking in general terms, I think the 2nd half of Boardwalk really picked up. The 1st half was a little too slow for my liking, but they definitely went out with a bang and the last 3 episodes were all among the series' best. Walking Dead had hit a bit of a lull until the last few as well, but last night's was probably my favorite of the season. Set the table for a nice 2nd half as well.. just sucks we have to wait two months for it! And meantime, Homeland keeps chugging along, and is clearly the best show on TV.. perhaps in a tie with Breaking Bad. Needless to say, after these next two homelands, and there's no new TV for a few months, I am going to be very dissapointed. After you've all caught up, we can chat more.. but for now.. onto the links!

1. Spreading good cheer

If you recall, when DMX shows up at radio stations.. awesome things can happen... and this time is no different.

Watch DMX ruff ryde his way through an especially rousing version of "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

2012’s holiday hit has arrived to stop, drop, shut all those other songs down, and open up shop. New York City’s Christmas station, 106.7 Lite FM, managed to get DMX to commit to an especially rowdy version of “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” live on air, and the results are spectacular...

I don't know that "spectacular" does it justice.. Let's just say it's enough to make a Jew smile on Christmas.

2. Speaking of Remixes..

Take a look... It's in a book ... A Reading Rainbow

3. Anecdote of the day

I'm sure all adulterers have some jitters when they climb into bed with someone's wife.. but can you imagine having those fears realized, in the worst way possible.. when THIS GUY walks in on you!

4. Yeah, they smoke it.

Of course only a stoner could come up with those crazy, wacky plans... now science confirms it.

5. Will they get benefits too?

I voted for Obama, but if these guys get unemployment, then I may have to rethink my philosophies...

Side note: they're already fighting back!

6. No Good Deed..

... so much for the feel-good story of the year.

7. Phil & Friends

Could be the sickest lineup Phil's ever put together.. and that's saying a lot. No vids yet, but here's some audio

One of the more exciting runs in post-Dead history came to a close last night when Phil Lesh, John Medeski, John Scofield, Warren Haynes and Joe Russo finished a three-night stand at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, Calif. As they did on the first two nights, the extremely talented combo  mixed classics from the Grateful Dead songbook with assorted covers.

Set One: Jam >  Dear Mr. Fantasy (WH) >  Here Comes Sunshine (WH), Amazing Grace (WH), Blue Sky, Ramble on Rose (WH), Sunshine of Your Love (WH) >  Cosmic Charlie

Set Two:   Hallelujah (WH) >  Bird Song (PL) >  China Cat Sunflower (WH) >  I Know You Rider, Dark Star v1 >  While My Guitar Gently Weeps (WH) >  Dark Star v2 (PL) >  Not Fade Away > Turn on Your Lovelight (WH), Not Fade Away
Encore: Donor Rap > Stella Blue (WH)

((they also played a lizzy reed at another show! dayum!))

That's all for now. Sorry if you were looking for Kate pregnancy coverage.. you'll have to look elsewhere...
